Fresh out of college with an Associate’s Degree in Auto Technicians, I took a leap of faith and started Honeycutt Transmission. I knew that if I combined my technical expertise with a commitment to doing right by my customers, success would follow. Looking back now, I see that the road was anything but easy, but every challenge taught me something invaluable.

The Importance of Customer Trust

One of the first lessons I learned in the automotive business is that trust is everything. When people bring their vehicles to a repair shop, they are not just looking for a quick fix; they are looking for honesty, reliability, and peace of mind. From the beginning, I made it a priority to build relationships with my customers, treating each one with respect and integrity. Over the years, this approach has paid off—many of my earliest customers still bring their vehicles to my shop, and their children and grandchildren do too. That level of trust is something I never take for granted.

Staying ahead of the curve has required constant learning and adaptation. One of the proudest moments in my career was when Honeycutt Transmission was recognized as one of the top ten garages in the country. It was a testament to our dedication to staying ahead in an ever-evolving industry.

My wife Cindy, our two daughters, and our four grandchildren have been my greatest supporters, and I’ve made it a point to ensure that I set aside quality time for them. Whether it’s spending time on our farm, enjoying hobbies like collecting classic cars, or simply having dinner together, these moments are just as valuable as any business milestone.
